Embers of the Forest
'Embers of the Forest' is a series created in 2022, exploring the altering of photos of forest fires into magical light forests. A metaphor for the helplessness I feel in the face of climate decline. No matter how small changes many of us make for the planet, it doesn't seem to change much. We use what can be comforting and calming to protect our mental health. These paintings are 'magical and surreal' yet they are sourced from destruction (wildfires).
Lueurs de la forêt
"Lueurs de la forêt" est une série créée en 2022, explorant la transformation de photos d'incendies de forêt en forêts lumineuses magiques. Une métaphore de l'impuissance que je ressens face au déclin climatique. Peu importe les petits changements que beaucoup d'entre nous apportons à la planète, cela ne semble pas changer grand-chose. Nous utilisons ce qui peut être réconfortant et apaisant pour protéger notre santé mentale. Ces peintures sont « magiques et surréalistes » mais elles sont inspirés de la destruction (feux de forêt).
